Glamp Michigan boosts our Northern Michigan economy. By adding two new glass houses, more guests will spend here.

We’re proposing two ÖÖD homes. Why?
More jobs. Less construction.
More privacy. Less guests.
More impact. Less disruption.
Meet ÖÖD
Glamp Michigan is downsizing its plans for its 13 acres in Benzonia.
Instead of building two more domes, Glamp Michigan is proposing two smaller structures with less occupancy and more privacy from neighbors.
Imagine waking up to a glass wall of windows in a Pure Michigan forest. That’s the immersive experience of ÖÖD.
We’re proposing to add two ÖÖDs to the same property as The Domes. Each ÖÖD site will include a private hot tub, private sauna and cold plunge, private fire pit and Blackstone and outdoor tent.
Inside, guests will enjoy forest views, a kitchenette, shower and toilet. Oh, and heated floors for cozy seasons.
Let’s glamp, Michigan.
How would adding two ÖÖD homes impact the local area?
Increased Economic Impact:
Glamp Michigan attracts high-income travelers to Benzonia and Benzie County, generating lodging tax revenue and boosting local restaurants, shops, and services. Our guests want to spend money and support local businesses.
Expansion would increase additional local jobs (building, cleaning, maintenance).
Local Investment Opportunity:
Glamp Michigan is offering guests and residents the opportunity to invest in small businesses in Michigan. The investment will offer strong returns.
Year-Round Tourism Dollars:
Proximity to Crystal Mountain ensures year-round demand—skiers in winter, hikers and bikers in summer.
Unique winter aesthetic of the ÖÖD Signature Houses appeals to guests seeking off-season getaways.
Fewer Guests Versus Four Domes:
Each dome is currently permitted for six guests. With four domes, the campground could house 24 guests at a time. However, we currently market the dome for four guests, with some exceptions for families and friends.
With the ÖÖD Signature Houses, there would only be two guests per house.
Moving to two ÖÖDs dramatically reduces the guests:
Aurora Dome: 4-5 guests
Loyly Dome: 4-5 guests
ÖÖD Signature House 1: 2 guests
ÖÖD Signature Houses 2: 2 guests
TOTAL GUESTS: 12-14 guests
ÖÖDs Are Further from Neighbors
The two ÖÖD Signature Houses would be closer to Wallaker Rd, making it easier for guests to access, and further away from neighbors.
Low Environmental Impact:
These structures prevent two more permanent builds, as units are on wheels.
Units are designed with minimal footprint using existing cleared areas to minimize the environmental impact.
All septic and water solutions will meet county health standards.
Use of permeable paths, solar lighting, and native landscaping.
Glamp Michigan has already completed the majority of the infrastructure, including road, parking, trash, electricity, propane, a Type III well to service all four units, and walking trails. The proposed site plan would make use of existing clearings for septic and road installation.
Aesthetics and Compatibility:
OOD Signature Homes are designed to reflect the forest and preserve viewsheds.
Architecturally aligned with the vision of Joyfield Township as a rural, nature-focused community.
Note that the houses also include a coating to protect birds.
Small Scale, High Value:
This proposal is for only two additional units, increasing total site usage from 2 to 4. It also reduces the square footage from 800 square feet per dome, to 226 square feet per ÖÖD Signature House. That brings the total square footage for the entire property to 2,052 square feet.
No party houses, no large groups—target audiences are couples, families, retirees, friends and individuals seeking wellness and retreat experiences.
Established Track Record:
Glamp Michigan has demonstrated high-quality, well-maintained guest experiences with 90% average occupancy.
Both existing domes are booked 80%+ in 2025, with strong guest reviews and national recognition.
